Interactive tutorial on the DRE for your county
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) — enacted by Congress on October 29, 2002 — was designed to alleviate election system problems, increase confidence in the election process, and assure that all registered voters — regardless of disabilities — can cast their ballots privately and independently.
In Texas, voters will find at least one accessible voting system in every polling place (with the limited exception of sparsely populated jurisdictions conducting non-federal elections). To learn and “vote” on the DRE system used at your polling site, simply select your county from the pull down menu and press “Go.”
