When to Vote

For information on voting by mail or voting early in person, please see the section "Many Texans Vote Early." Polls are open during early voting and on election days from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

  1. Primary Runoff Election Date: April 13, 2010
    1. First day to apply for ballot by mail: February 12, 2010 (if did not request runoff ballot on application for primary ballot)
    2. Last day to register to vote: March 15, 2010 (moves to next business day, Monday)
    3. Last day to apply for ballot by mail (Received, not Postmarked): April 6, 2010
    4. Early Voting: April 5, 2010 (moves to next business day, Monday) - April 9, 2010
  2. Uniform Election Date: May 8, 2010
    1. First day to apply for ballot by mail: March 9, 2010
    2. Last day to register to vote: April 8, 2010
    3. Last day to apply for ballot by mail (Received, not Postmarked): April 30, 2010 (moves to preceding business day, Friday)
    4. Early Voting: April 26, 2010 - May 4, 2010
  3. Uniform Election Date: November 2, 2010
    1. First day to apply for ballot by mail (does not apply to FPCA): September 3, 2010
    2. Last day to register to vote: October 4, 2010 (moves to next business day, Monday)
